Accessibility Compliance

Accessibility compliance is becoming an increasingly complex consideration that can affect construction projects. To help avoid costly field modifications or litigation, our experienced architects also review construction documents to verify compliance with accessibility requirements, including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) as well as the Fair Housing Act, locally adopted building codes and modifications thereof. Often, we are able to provide creative solutions to problems within the framework of the accessibility requirements when conventional approaches are not viable. We are also called upon to consult on existing projects to renovate and remediate buildings for accessibility issues that may arise for a variety of reasons including change in building use.
